Andrew Bird “Eyeoneye” from the upcoming Break It Yourself
Andrew Bird w/ Opera-Matic @ The Hideout, Chicago, IL
A great weekend in all, but The Hideout’s 15th anniversary block party was amazing. There were two highlights for me. One was Andrew Bird coming on stage with Mavis Staples, performing The Band’s “The Weight” .. which, if you’ve seen The Last Waltz, should see the connection. The other was Andrew Bird performing with Opera-Matic. Video in next post..
incl Andrew Bird’s cover of Kermit’s “Bein’ Green”
Andrew Bird “You Woke Me Up!” from Fingerlings 4 (Gezelligheid Chicago)
WOWWWWWWWWWW
Andrew Bird records seven live tracks for an exclusive iTunes session:
St. Vincent (with Andrew Bird)- “What Me Worry?”
Did you see her supporting Grizzly Bear? I didn’t give her a proper review, but she was pretty good, though I wish she had a full band or at least some of a band backing her. On some songs you can really hear the influence of her Texan roots in the blues guitar licks she uses.
I really like this photo of Andrew Bird. He seems to be playing somewhere appropriately classy as well.

What does all this classical training mean for me? It means I’m over-qualified to play most of the music I make.

I always thought that America had cheaper tickets, turns out that’s not really the case.
I was looking into tickets to see Grizzly Bear the day i fly into the dates in Philly.. cause im obsessed.. even though im seeing them as shortly after i get back; anyway, the tickets are $26 + 9.60 “convenience charge” + postage. RIDIC. then i looked at Andrew Bird tickets when I’m visiting my sister and it’s even worse.. $25 x 2 + CHARGES = nearly $70.
wtf. i hate live nation.
